“There would be more of us here but, so many of us are in jail.”
– written on a sign held by a protester supporting the Jena 6
Quite honestly, I’m speechless.
Kinda . . .
Is life weird, or what?

I’ve finally caught up with some of the details on this whole thing. I swear, I’m making a t-shirt that says, “you are just propagating the stereotype.”

If people could take out the political element of racial tension, it would be much easier to identify the root problem and create change in situations like these. (Easier said than done, but, really.) People that embody stereotypes do exist, but at the same time stereotypes are almost always over-generalization. The whole situation makes me angry. And I’m guessing that sign won’t do the trick for anyone.

If people would stop creating racist situations and making it a cottage industry – maybe we could actually sort it out. It goes both ways – it would be nice if people could be people first, instead of whatever group that makes them a victim, first.

*Sigh* I’m so tired of hearing ‘woe is me’. I don’t feel sorry for anyone anymore. Sad that it’s come to apathy.
