Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Basically, a toon shut down the city of Boston today. (or as we say, a cahtoon)
Turner Broadcasting, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
You royally suck because you thought this was a pretty hip publicity stunt.
In this day and age when nutjobs strap bombs onto their bodies and walk into a nightclub filled with 300 people all in the name of a God, what makes you think this would be viewed as something cute and different simply because no one would get hurt?
Think again.
Take your corpulent corporate head out of your ass and get out the checkbook.
I pray this boneheaded brainfart costs you douchebags millions.
I’m going easy here because I was fortunate enough to have the day off. . . unlike the thousands of pissed off people still trying to get home.
Way to go, TBC.

Maybe the city should have called Roger Rabbit…

  1. made headlines here in oz too michael..the mentality that these corporations have defies logic sometimes doesn’t it?
be interesting to see what, if any, action is taken against these cretins…

It will ultimately be a cash thing.
Turner will fork over some green and maybe it will be over.
People are pretty pissed off around here.
    This was definitely NOT funny.

  2. I just read about this on the news. I have a feeling heads are going to roll in that marketing department today.

    We can only hope.

  3. Turner apparently hired a “guerilla marketing company” for the campaign. It really must be asked though, why 9 out of 10 major cities were not shut down by this. I think Boston is 3 times as angry because of the possibility of being perceived as a bit of a laughing stock. Perhaps this explains why they arrested the guy that put the “devices” (read: lighted signs ) up everywhere. As far as I can see, he’s just a poor schmuck who found a temp job on craigslist (my assumption; craig has not been mentioned) doing “promotions” to subsidize his income. However, I don’t think Boston Law Enforcement are idiots…what happened here is simply what could have happened in this day and age (as someone mentioned) with a campaign like this, hanging largely unrecognizable objects on major thoroughfares. But as I write this, wasn’t it reported at first that these were wrapped packages?? They weren’t. There were littled lightboards with faces. Which would have made for a very sick bomb, admittedly. At any rate, when there is any doubt, law enforcement’s hands are tied, and they proceeded as they had to. But free the little artist guy already. I refuse to believe he had any notion of how these lights would be perceived.

Laughing stock is right. Sad, too.
    Kinda pisses you off.
This was an irresponsible and outright ignorant act.
Someone needs to pay for the overtime. Fork it over TBC…
Great comment, Diva. I agree 100%.
Stop by more often, huh? 😉

  4. I read about this, and I was just amazed. I don’t know who thought it was a good idea, but you know a LOT of people are going to lose their asses over this one.

As I replied to Lifewords, we can only hope.
Almost any penalty would be justified.

  5. M… Saw the two smucks going to court in Boston this morning why in dread locks another clean cut guy that actually took videos of themselves doing it.. and when they brought them into court this morning they both had that shit eating grins like, “yeah we did it so what?”

These douchebags were contacted by the PR firm because of their supposed connections in the video world.
If these smarmy assholes are that smug, I say throw the frickin’ book at ’em.

  6. You know, this is crazy; and what’s even crazier is that when you’re talking about corporations at this level, with this type of money, you have to ask yourself: is there such a thing as bad publicity for these people? For all we know, they are sitting around smoking cigars and patting themselves on the back while the ratings soar for their stupid little cartoon show. Americans have become addicted to watching train wrecks, our curiosity literally may kill us, or our cats. I mean what little bit of optimism is left in me says, “no way could that be true”, but I’m a bit more cynical than that. BTW, I thought I was the only person who used the word douchebag, love it.

I like the way your mind works.
And yes, ‘douchebag’ is a favorite of mine…
